2024 Melobar Prototypes finally done

Some of you have been following these prototype instruments over the last couple years...here they are, finally done. Be sure and hit the full screen so you can actually see the wood, fun stuff 😉

Lindley's Genious video mentioned for the Gold with Rosewood Cap

BTW the necks used on the prototypes were oddballs and rejects that couldn't be used on stock Melobars - I'm still saving the last good necks for players.

  1. Mr. Smith, so glad to read that you are still actively involved with all things Melobar. I’m happy to report that I recently purchased Melobar 069 from the Mosrite era. It’s my introduction to slide guitar, mine having been converted for 6 string play. I have several questions about the bridge saddle/plate which is comprised of two separate pieces and not the one I see pictured more often (backloaded and bearing the MELOBAR name. I’ve seen a picture of just one other like mine. Wondering if the two piece setup was used in earlier years of production.
Is there a good way you and I can email back and forth if you would be so inclined.
    Thanks!
